DOCUMENTING EVIDENCE

Hi there!

So, today I will share about APA referencing style. Below are some of the examples that commonly used in  APA referencing style.


BOOKS

                                                   


1. One author

Author's last name, Initial (s). (Year of Publication). Book title. Publication City: Publisher.

Eg:

Clouse, B.F. (2010). A troubleshooting guide for writers: Strategies and process. Kuala Lumpur: McGraw-Hill


2. Two or more authors

First Author's name, Initial (s), & Second Author's Last name, Initial (s). (Year of Publication). Book title. Publication City: Publisher.

Eg;

Arksey, H., & Knight, P. (1999). Interviewing for social scientist. Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage.


Eight or more authors (List first six, then put ellipsis (...) and the last name)

Eg:

Alberts, A.B., Smithson, C.D., Lake, E.F., Kennedy, G.H., Larson, I.J., Baddock, K.L., ... Peterson, W.X. (2007). Interviewing Teenagers, Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage.


PERIODICALS

                                             

1. Scholarly journal

First Author's Last Name, Initial (s), & Second author's last name, Initial (s). (Year of Publication). Title of article. Title of journal, Volume(issue), Pages(s)

Eg:

Cotterall, C, & Cohen, R. (2003). Scaffolding for second language writers: Producing an academic essay. English Language Teaching Journal, 57(22), 158-166.

2. Newspaper

Author's Last Name, Initial(s). (Year, Month Day of Publication). Title of article. Title of newspaper, p(p). Page(s)

Eg:

Kong,L. (2010, February 26). Suspect's wife charged. The Star, p. N3.

3. Newspaper / magazine with no author listed

Title of article.(Year, Month Day of Publication). Title of article. Title of newspaper, p(p). Page(s)

Eg:

Acid attack "scarred girl for life". (1986, October 21). The Guardian, p.4.


ELECTRONIC SOURCES

                                                  



1. Website article

Author's Last Name, Initial(s). (Year, Month Day of Web page or n.d.). Title of article. Retrieved Month Day, Year of Access, from URL

Eg;

Woods, C. (n.d.). Teen Fashion start here. Retrieved April 27, 1998, from http://www.asianteenvogue.com


Based on the following examples, we able to write any citations in the right way. Therefore, it is significant to understand the right format of citation :)
